mood:

we weren't very productive this weekend. wed preps-wise, i mean.

saturday, we visited tita emily. she's the friend of tita beta (my bestfriend ella's mom) who's in the jewelry business. she lives in better living lang, which is near our place, so it was an easy 15-minute drive.

when we got to her street, we had a little bit of difficulty finding her shop. tita emily said it was beside this pasta place, but the only thing we could see was a little shanty. it didn't really look like a place that dealt with jewelry. so i called tita emily using my mobile phone to clarify her directions, and true enough, the shanty was it. in her words, "sa ilalim ng puno ng mangga." ooookay...

with a bit of trepidation, schmuck and i went inside the little "shop" and was surprised that quite a few people were there. while waiting, schmuck and i were eavesdropping into their conversation, and from what i could surmise, there was a whole lot of wheeling and dealing going on. i heard snatches of their conversation, and "thousand dollars" and "hundred thousand pesos" were flying like crazy. holy crap! i could rob this little "shop" and be rich enough to hold a wedding for 500 guests in a private island! i was amazed. funny how things don't really seem like what they are.

anyhoo, when it was our turn, there were still two ladies waiting in the room. i think they were waiting for their driver to pick them up. as we were discussing our specs with tita emily, these two ladies were giving us their suggestions na, especially the older one. hahaha! well, it was a welcome intrusion as these ladies were able to bargain a discount for us. hee! i only found out after we've left that the old lady was a tambunting. hmmm...old rich. well, the old lady has our gratitude.

we haven't booked the rings yet though. i'm still waiting for another quotation, but i think i got a good deal with tita emily. i hope we get to book her na this weekend.

oh, have i told you what we chose for our rings? well, they're not identical. like i mentioned before, schmuck refuses to have stones on his ring. so he gets a plain wide band, while i get 5 stones on mine. i love the design that i chose cause it matches my engagement ring perfectly. can't wait to wear it!!!

sunday was spent with friends. we had dinner at the house of a friend who just gave birth a few weeks ago.

baby tyler was soooo cute! he was sleeping on his tummy, with his tushy in the air. i spent about five minutes with my nose buried in his tushy. babies just smell so divine!!! if someone could bottle baby smell and sell it, he'd be a millionaire.

i've been eating like a pig lately. come to think of it, since i've quit smoking. now i can't seem to stop stuffing my face.

it's all good, really. now i'm beginning to fill out, and i'm starting to see what may actually be curves. hehe!

which reminds me...i'm hungry. i think i'll grab something to eat.

why The Schmucks?

- We've decided to revolutionize the term. It's now a term of endearment. Before Roland & Tin became "Roland & Tin," we were very good friends with a dysfunctional sense of humor. I called him a schmuck, he called me a schmuck. Thus, The Schmucks were born. Now we're on our way to becoming Mr. & Mrs. Schmuck. Ain't life grand? -
